The Watch Band Buying Guide

Choosing the Right Watch Band for Your Watch

On this page, you'll find instructions on choosing the right watch band. We've compiled information on different bands and how to choose the right one in this watch band buying guide.

Are you possibly buying or have just bought a new HAVU watch and want to style it with a replacement watch band? Or are you simply looking for a change for your watch?

There are many different types of watches and, likewise, watch bands. By updating your band, you can refresh the entire look of your watch. Whether you're upgrading your current watch or buying a new one, you can easily order a new watch band from us. You can also purchase just the band from us if you already have a watch you like.

What Kind of Watch Band Fits My Watch?

Whether you choose an HAVU watch or another brand, you can choose from various watch bands according to your preference. By reading further, you'll find out what kind of band suits your watch and which bands HAVU wooden watch users prefer.

Metal Watch Band for Your Watch

The most common type of watch band is the metal band, also known as a link band. It's the most common band type in metal sports and dive watches. A metal watch band consists of a series of linked metal pieces that bend to the shape of the wrist but still provide durable support. The most famous link bands are undoubtedly the Oyster watch bands from the Rolex Submariner line, from which the style of metal watch bands has originally developed.

Metal Mesh Watch Band

A mesh band, or "Milanese" strap, is a watch band composed of dense metal loops, which is comfortable on the wrist and provides durable and firm support. Mesh bands for watches have been popular in recent years and can be found in various types of watches, from dive watches to elegant dress watches. You can also pair a HAVU wooden watch with a metal mesh band, which you can find in our store.

Leather Watch Band for Your Watch

A leather watch band is undoubtedly the classic choice for both men's and women's watches. Whether your watch is a sporty chronograph or a more classic dress watch, a leather band gives your watch a unique, sophisticated finish. However, there are many types of leather bands, from rough, untreated raw leather to refined and shiny crocodile leather.

You can also find leather watch bands in the HAVU collection! Choose a leather band that suits the style of your watch - whether you prefer the relaxation of a brown leather band or the luxury of black leather.

Leather Watch Band Care

Unlike metal watch bands, leather bands require a little maintenance. Usually, a light oiling every couple of months is sufficient for a leather watch band, but some rare bands may require polishing and softening agents. Leather bands also develop patina over time, so it's worth taking care of your watch band.

Choosing the Right Leather Watch Band

How do you pair the right watch band with the right watch? For example, the color tones of a black dial and a warm brown leather watch band may clash. When considering options, consider the watch's material, width, colors, and overall style. Dress watches, pilot watches, and dive watches all favor slightly different watch bands. What do you want to convey with your watch - carefree casualness or classic luxury? The most important thing is that the combination pleases your eye.

Fabric Watch Bands and NATO Bands

Fabric watch bands have become significantly more popular in recent years, although they are not a new phenomenon. Fabric bands were already seen in Sean Connery's Bond movies. Fabric watch bands have been dubbed "NATO straps" because they are popular in professional use, especially with soldiers.

A fabric watch band is durable and does not shine a reflection in the sun. It also dries faster than a leather watch band. You can find fabric bands in our online store alongside wooden watches - fabric and wood together create a really handsome combination!

Choosing a Watch Band

Strap Width in HAVU Watches

In our online store, the watch band width is indicated in each watch's product description, for example, like this: "Strap size: 20 mm". Remember to check the width of your watch's original strap so you don't get lost when choosing a replacement watch band.

Once you know what size watch band fits your watch, you can choose the band you like. From our selection, you'll find metal watch bands, textile watch bands, and leather watch bands. From the watch band section, you'll see what sizes are available in our online store for that color and material - for example: Brown leather band (16 mm, 18 mm, 20 mm, 22 mm). From the watch bands product page, you can choose the size of the band you want to order.

Range of Watch Bands

We offer a wide range of different watch bands. However, please note that not all watches have a suitable watch band available from us. If the original watch band of a HAVU watch is not interchangeable with the bands available from us, there will be a note in the product description.

Changing a watch band is easy to do at home. You'll find a watch band replacement tool in our online store, which allows you to easily change the band on your watch for a fresh look. Changing the watch band yourself is always the customer's responsibility. If you purchase a watch and band in the same order, we will change the watch band completely free of charge at your request before delivering the watch.
